After a career spanning 39 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Alan King, senior manager in the pensions team in Southampton, retired last week.
King’s passion for running makes him a familiar figure at lunchtimes when he can be seen running every day on his habitual route over the Itchen Bridge and a circular tour back to the PricewaterhouseCoopers office in Ocean Village.
King has worked in various areas at PricewaterhouseCoopers including forensics and corporate audit but has spent the past 10 years in pensions. During this career he has witnessed some notable business developments including computers, the Internet and mobile phones.
During his retirement, as well as wanting to learn to ski and play the piano, King plans to travel around the world with his wife.
Keith Evans, Southampton office senior partner, commented: “Alan is a well-known figure on the South Coast who will be missed. I would like to thank Alan for all his hard work and massive contribution over a lengthy career with PricewaterhouseCoopers. We wish him a long, healthy and happy retirement.”
