Leading Buckinghamshire legal practice B P Collins has become a Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) with effect from August 1.
The move mirrors an increasing trend among professional firms and, says senior partner David Stanning, will enable the organisation to attract new investment and offer a greater range of services.
“Converting to LLP status does not affect the delivery or quality of service that we provide and does not fundamentally change the way we operate or work with our clients,” he said. “What it does mean however, is that we will be able to source additional capital to invest in our services and ensure we can continue to attract the most talented professionals to join us in the future.
“We pride ourselves on being a modern and transparent firm and believe this change underlines our commitment to embracing new ways of working for the benefit of our clients. They can be reassured that their interests will always come first.”
LLP status also means the firm will trade with limited liability, meaning it is only the assets of the business that are at risk rather than the personal assets of its members.
