The Bugle in Hamble has just been awarded a Rosette by the AA for its food, making it the first and only venue in Hamble to receive such an accolade. The gastro pub has delighted locals and visitors to Hamble with its first class food, and now The Bugle team is delighted to be leading the way locally with its food and pub hospitality.

The historic Grade II listed pub was saved from plans for a luxury housing development after campaigning by local villagers. Re-opened as an independent in 2005, it set a course to deliver first class food and drink and re-establish itself at the heart of village life. General Manager Laurent Cescatti commented, “We are very pleased, as this cements what we set out to do when we re-opened. The Bugle is an exceptional venue and we always strive to produce food that will delight our customers. This award is great for Hamble and us here at The Bugle, as it really puts us on the map for people who appreciate great food.”

The AA rosette recognises restaurants that, “Achieve standards that stand out in their local area, serving food prepared with care, understanding and skill, using good quality ingredients.” Jim Hayward, Executive Chef said, “The team and I are over the moon and delighted that all the hard work, skilful cooking and careful selection of local ingredients has paid off. It is great news for Hamble and Southampton to have such quality venues to shout about.”

This latest news for The Bugle continues the great strides that owners Ideal Leisure are making in placing Southampton as a destination for top quality dining and accommodation. The Bugle’s sister venue The White Star is the only venue in central Southampton to carry the prestigious AA 5 Star rating for its accommodation alongside 2 Rosettes for dining.
