News stories and case studies are overwhelmingly the best-read articles in The Business Magazine, a survey has shown.
And manufacturing and technology are the two areas of business that readers would like to see more coverage of in the year ahead.
When asked: Does reading the magazine improve your knowledge of the local business scene, more than 94% say “yes”. Nearly 70% say reading the magazine helps with business leads.
Well over 90% of readers view the content of the magazine as “useful;” or “extremely useful”. A total of 86.7% also find the content of our websites “useful” or “extremely useful”.
Of those who answered our survey, 41.2% visit the website at least once a month, while 35.3% visit it at least once a week. A high percentage read digital magazines or newspapers as well as printed versions – but that result would inevitably be weighted because the survey was online.
Asked what is of most interest in the magazine or on the website, news stories come top, followed, in order, by case studies, profiles of business people, appointments, diary of upcoming events, property, finance and legal articles.
Asked what is liked best about the Digital Edition, responses highlighted “easy to read”, “simple format”, “swift to access articles”, and “layout classy and arty”.
Asked what is liked best about the www.businessmag.co.uk website, readers highlighted “easy to navigate”, “fast loading”, and “packed full of news”.
Asked what changes would most improve the magazine, readers highlighted “more companies, less professional advisers”, “too text heavy, more images” and “a much broader spread” of articles.
• In the latest issue of The Business Magazine, case study features include profiles of the Fabulous Bakin’ Boys, Bottomline Technologies, Area Sq, Blatchfords, Wessex Petroleum (WP), Sophos and Haskins.
Publisher David Murray said: “We intend to cover more business sectors in the months ahead, focusing on entrepreneurs and fast-growth companies. Our readers say they love reading about successful businesses, and we plan to provide lots of interesting features during 2012.
“At the same time, our main website, www.businessmag.co.uk, will soon be relaunched with a great new look and even better navigation. And we are constantly evolving our Digital Edition, responding to an ever-changing digital environment.”
